17 Apr-18 May 2008. Angel Art Gallery presents this exhibition of the contemporary Sicilian painter Giuseppe Veneziano, known for his ironic and provocative style. In an epoch when judging and classifying every subject and its behavior has become a sort of profession, the young artist tries to overcome any form of prejudice. He mixes current events and infantile imagery, politics and eroticism, dreams and collective fears. His colours are full, flat and heavy-bodied and generate a third dimension, a fake reality, in which the borders between the imaginary and the real are imperceptible. Among the works displayed are some past and present political figures, from Stalin to Hitler from Silvio Berlusconi to Letizia Moratti, mayor of Milan. Religious themes are mixed with figures from the history of art, with characters from comics and television celebrities.
