19 April-30 June. To mark the 50th anniversary of the film Cleopatra, and two years after the death of its famous protagonist, this exhibition pays homage to Liz Taylor. This rebellious and flamboyant star is celebrated in over 100 posters, original posters of Taylor’s first movies, memorabilia, videos, gadgets, vintage magazines, clothing reproductions, jewels and other objects. On display are four copies of dresses worn by Taylor and designed by Milan’s Pia Rame, as well as copies of her famous jewels, created by De Liguoro Bijoux of Milan. For this occasion, the collector Sergio Salemi loaned a perfect replica of the fabulous 68-carat-diamond, which Richard Burton gave her in 1969. Liz worked with the most important actors of her time, including Richard Burton, Paul Newman, Rex Harrison, Rock Hudson, Spencer Tracy, Montgomery Clift, Steward Granger, Vittorio Gassman, Marlon Brando and James Dean, as well as for some of the greatest international movie directors, such as Vincent Minnelli, Franco Zeffirelli, Richard Vidor, William Dieterle, Joseph Mankiewicz, John Huston, Joseph Losey and Mike Nichols.
