4-25 February 2012. This exhibition, entitled Io Sono (I am) displays work by the Italian artist Monica Marioni. Marioni portrays the visions of obsessed psyches and explores the perverted dynamics used by the mind to tyrannize the body. This journey into obsession illustrates the suffering generated by self-refusal and rejection of the body. Marioni’s works illustrate this vicious mental circle, which influences the subjects’ daily life. The artist represents the emotional dynamics of this conflict between rationality and obsession.
Marioni has been studying the relationship between mind and body in contemporary individuals for many years.
After Milan this exhibition will travel to Berlin, where it will be displayed at the Forum Factory from 22 to 26 February 2012.
