1-30 October 2010. This exhibition displays 15 photographs taken in the 1990s by the American photographer Mark Steinmetz, inspired by the movies by the great Italian director Michelangelo Antonioni, who died recently. During that decade Steinmetz travelled several times around Italy: Rome, Venice and Florence and was inspired by individuals and their relationships. His works are a poetic and narrative sequence, characterized by the use of black and white. A single colour image concludes the series.
In the past years Steinmetz taught photography at various universities such as Harvard and Yale University and displayed his photographs at The Museum of Modern Art of New York and at the James Cohan Gallery of Shanghai among others.
