Quality food and wines
Milan’s historic social centre Leoncavallo will host a three-day celebration of quality food starting on Friday 28 November by “The Earth Trembles” – an association of farmers and vintners who describe themselves as “antagonistic”, fighting against the inroads of concrete, industry and infrastructure threatening the land.
Stands will be open from 15.00 to 22.00 on Friday, from 15.00 to 23.00 on Saturday, and from 13.00 to 20.00 on Sunday, offering tasters of “zero kilometer” products by the new communities respecting natural rules and traditional methods on farms and vinyards resisting the crush of industrialisation.
Dinner will be served in the Cucina Pop on each day, lunch too on Sunday.
On Friday and Saturday from 22.00, live music and DJ sets will round off the evening, while Sunday evening will close with the award of the “Golden Billhook” for the most appreciated product.
The organisation takes its name from Luchino Visconti’s 1948 cult film about the exploitation of working-class fishermen in Sicily.
