Masters of Symbolism on display in Milan

03 Feb-15 June. Symbolist art in Europe from the Belle Époque to the Great War.

Milan’s central Palazzo Reale exhibition space will host an exhibition of around 150 works of art from the most important Italian and European museums and private collections by masters of the Symbolism movement.

First appearing in poetry in France, Belgium and Russia, the Symbolist movement soon spread to the visual arts, theatre, architecture and music.

The project aims to evoke the ideal ambition of Symbolism to create a total work of art, showing works by Klimt, Moreau, Odillon Redon, Von Stuck, Hodler and the Italians Segantini, Previati, Sartorio, among others.
