13 Nov. Workshop for 5 to 16-year-olds.
Art experts at Milan’s Palazzo Reale will help youngsters discover how Milanese painter Michelangelo Merisi, better known as Caravaggio, lit up his dark scenes, capturing the exact moment and fixing the beauty and the force of emotions on his canvas.
In a studio set up in a separate room of the current exhibition of Caravaggio’s works, Dentro Caravaggio, the young visitors will find themselves transported into the artist’s world and learn the secrets of his spectacular use of lighting and shade.
At the end of the visit, the students will receive a guide and a mini-catalogue to take home.
Youngsters from 5 to 16, accompanied by an adult, need to book the visit, phoning 02 8844 8046. Entry to the exhibition costs €6 for kids over 6 years old, and there are reductions for the accompanying family member. The lessons will be offered on 13 and 27 November, 11 December and 15 January, all at 17.00.
