Milan Fashion Week, Moda Donna starts on Wednesday 18 September with the biggest names in the women’s wear world hitting the catwalks in Italy’s fashion capital. Some 146 collections are on show this year for the spring/summer 2014 collections.
Chairman Mario Boselli of the Italian national Chamber of fashion presented the rich programme this week together with mayor Giuliano Pisapia. The mayor said: “City Hall and the Chamber share the objective of doing ever more justice to one of Milan’s strongest points [ ... ], a whole system taking part in the economic development of the city and the country.”
To show support for the event, the city administration is making several historic buildings available for sideline events, including an exhibition of Anna Piaggi’s hats until 10 November in Palazzo Morando, and the closing cocktail party on 23 September in the Palazzo Reale. The full programme of presentations and other events is available on the Milan Fashion Week website.
