10-12 Feb. 85 local, national and international galleries.
Three days of affordable art sales, with bargains and the latest trends in contemporary art to suit all tastes and budgets.
The very first edition of the Affordable Art Fair was launched in London’s Battersea Park in 1999, says founder Will Ramsay. Some 10,000 art lovers descended upon the fair to take advantage of the ease of buying, range of choice, and of course, the affordable prices.
AAFs now welcome over 220,000 art enthusiasts each year to fairs across the world, where visitors can take their pick from a mix of local, national and international galleries showcasing a wide range of contemporary paintings, original prints, photographs and sculptures by both established artists and rising stars.
Now more than an auction, the fair is the occasion for guided tours for adults and kids, film screenings and performances, meetings with artists, hands-on workshops, live music, restaurants and bars. The venture’s success can be measured by its €367 million turnover since the humble start.
The event website includes a catalogue of this year’s bargains, details of the artists exhibiting, the programme of the collateral events, and the chance to buy discounted tickets.
The fair, which has now become a regular fixture in nine European, one American and three Asian locations, takes place in Milan at Superstudio Più in Via Tortona 27.
