Milan has joined seven other cities worldwide to host Social Media Week 2014, under the slogan “The future is now – Always on, always connected”.
Together with Barcelona, New York, Tokyo, Lagos, Hamburg, Bangalore and Copenhagen, the event aims to be where humanity and technology make progress. According to the event website, the organisers are bringing together the world’s foremost leaders, thinkers, and doers to collaborate and help mould how people progress together. “By joining us, you’ll be at the forefront, hearing the latest concepts and visions for the future, as well as have the opportunity to gain practical knowledge and skills through our many master classes,” the website promises.
Conferences and workshops are open to all comers and participation is free, but registration on the SMW website is strictly necessary if you want to take part in person because the number of places in each event is limited.
The week’s programme includes events in five locations around the city: Palazzo Marino, Palazzo Reale, Urban Centre, Mondadori Duomo and Talent Garden. The website provides details of content, times and location of all 61 events. You can also follow the week on its dedicated Facebook page, as well as on Twitter (@SMWmilan) and Instagram.
