Milan hosts Tattoo Convention

8-10 Feb. 24th annual appointment.

Milan will again be the scene for the 24th annual Tattoo Convention from 8 to 10 February at the city trade fairground.

Enthusiasts for body art are expected to throng the pavilions for the shows, catwalks and competitions with guest artists from 43 nations around the world.

There will be prizes for the best traditional, best oriental, best realistic, best in colour, best in black, best each day and best of the show.

Among the shows outside the strictly tattoo area, visitors can watch the fakir bed of nails and stairway of swords shows by Valentina Tafferini, a Milan-based fire-eater who has performed with the world renowned Cirque du Soleil.  Choreographer and dancer Elisabetta Di Carlo, aka Betty Style, familiar to TV and movie audiences, will present numbers from her New York and LA performances. And a special place will be reserved for a display of bondage.

The convention will feature music by Sicilian DJ The Nextone, Riae Suicide and rap pioneer Space One.

Details of the programme and side events are available on the convention website.

Entrance to the convention is at Gate 17 on Via Gattamelata, a five-minute walk from M5 station Portello, with tickets priced at €25. The convention is open on Friday 14.00 to 23.00, Saturday 12.00 to 23.00 and Sunday 12.00 to 20.00.
