Milan ready for the Affordable Art Fair

17-20 March. And don’t miss the Art Night Out on Friday.

The sixth edition of Milan’s Affordable Art Fair will entice both first-time buyers and seasoned collectors with 84 galleries exhibiting works from over 500 artists starting on Thursday 17 March.

Born in London in 1999, the AAF accepts only galleries representing living artists, from emerging to established names, and artwork with a ceiling price of €6,000. The success of the formula has inspired fairs in cities from Amsterdam to New York, Hamburg to Hong Kong and more.

This year’s event in Milan is based at the Superstudio Più in Via Tortona. Four categories will help visitors find what inspires them most: main, young, photography and exchange. But this year a fifth category will spread across the city: street art, with places and times on the event website.

The programme includes workshops, “Art History Lessons for Everyone”, talks to meet the artists in person, and live performances.

Special events will include an Asian night on Thursday, to find out more about art from the far east, with dancing and language lessons, food tasting and a drama workshop. And on Friday, the Art Night Out will uncover Milan’s vibrant art scene in over 50 different spaces around the city – from galleries and artist studios to designer showrooms and more – to give a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the city’s art world.
