For International Women’s Day

Charles Bryant’s 1923 masterpiece Salomé will be screened on International Women’s Day, Sunday 8 March at 20.30, in the series of classical silent films presented by Milano Silent.

Starring Bryant’s wife, Russian actress Alla Nazimova, the movie carries sub-titles drawn from the works of Oscar Wilde. The sets and costumes are by Natasha Rambova, wife of Rodolfo Valentino. A live “soundtrack” will be performed by pianist and composer Rossella Spinosa.

Milano Silent is a season of cinema concerts with the mission of bringing the passion for silent movies to everybody, not only an elite of fans and cinema professionals. It presents selected early classics at various venues around the city, with live music by I Solisti Lombardi or by Rossella Spinosa.
