First time since 1932.
Motors will roar in Milan’s Corso Venezia on 1 February as the 22nd Rallye Monte-Carlo Historique starts from Milan to honour the 115th birthday of the Milano Automobile Club.
The spinoff event to the better-known Monte-Carlo rally, the Historique is reserved for vintage cars which took part in main rally between 1955 and 1980. This year’s run will see 65 Milan participants joined by a further 25 which will have arrived from Athens, the other starting point this year, on the previous day.
All the cars taking part will be on display from 15.00 on 31 January in the cloisters of the Senate building in Via Senato. After a parade through Piazza del Duomo, the rally itself begins in front of the Milan AC headquarters on Corso Venezia at 18.00.
Competitors will follow the A4, A8 and A9 motorways from Milan to the Bardonecchia crossing point, entering France by the Fréjus tunnel and arriving at their destination in Bourgoin Jallieu from around 05.00 the following morning.
