18 Feb-19 Mar 2009. This collective exhibition displays work by international contemporary artists Douglas Gordon, Damien Hirst, Wangechi Mutu, Anselm Reyle and Marc Quinn. Originally in Sanskrit the word Nafas meant breath but subsequently it acquired different meanings in other cultures. For example in Sufism it was associated to the meaning of freedom, while in Arabia it described the dynamic force of birth. The five artists use the different meanings of Nafas as their theme.
