19 October 2012-6 January 2013. This retrospective, entitled The Matter of Dreams, displays a series of photographic installations, experimentations and images by Nino Migliori.
For Migliori photography is a way to choose and transform and it represents the raw material he uses to create his visual dreams. Throughout his long lasting career, he has created the most diverse projects and has fulfilled many artistic researches, which intersect and interact. The result is a visual labyrinth, which is at the same time intricate and linear.
This famous Bolognese photographer started his photographic career at the end of the 1940s, during realism. In the 1950s he created his first off-camera series, entitled Walls (Muri), in which Migliori intervenes on plates and films with scratches and cuts, uses the light of a match to impress the negatives, draws on the photographic paper with fixing and developing liquids. Later he experimented with polaroids, using various materials, including gold and bronze, and subsequently invented surprising and innovative installations.
