Photo Week in Milan

5-11 June. 150 events in over 100 places across the city.

Milan will celebrate Photo Week from 5 June with a programme of events all linked to various aspects of photography.

The city will pulse with courses, workshops, exhibitions and meetings geared to make the wider public, young and old, more familiar with professional photography.

The programme includes a joint project for portraits of milanesi by 30 photo-artists from Milan, workshops for children taking their first steps in the art, an installation where architecture and photography intersect, as well as an exhibition by leading African photographers.

There will even be a workshop on how to produce the most arresting shots with the humble smart-phone, and a children's workshop on how to create a camera oscura with a cardboard box, scissors and sticky tape – and learn how real cameras work.

During the week, 17 photographic archives will be exceptionally open to the public.

The full, detailed programme of the week’s events is on the dedicated website.
