City becomes an open-air concert hall.
The fourth edition of Piano City Milan gets under way on Friday 22 May at 20.45 in Parco Sempione with the original composition Music for seven key instruments and percussions by the German pianist Hauschka.
Once again, pianoforte enthusiasts have arranged concerts small and large, in apartments, courtyards and parks – and even on board two trams – throughout the city. The core of the event will be the 80 guest concerts of high artistic quality.
Music will range from classical to jazz, from blues to contemporary, from solo to chamber music to concerts.
Many events are free of entry charge, while others – especially those in small, intimate milieux – may require booking.
The full programme of the weekend is available on the website, searchable by category, genre of music, and location within the city’s zones.
