16 Jan. Maurizio Pollini gives solo performance.
World acclaimed Italian pianist Maurizio Pollini will present a concert at Milan’s Teatro alla Scala on Monday 16 January.
The programme will include nine works by Schönberg and three Beethoven sonatas.
Milan-born Pollini is widely regarded as one of the leading pianists alive, with a particular expertise in the works of Chopin, Beethoven, Schubert and Schumann, although extending his repertoire also to contemporary composers.
In 2001, Deutsche Grammofon issued a commemorative series of 13 CDs to celebrate his 60th birthday. His recording of Chopin’s preludes is the 12th all-time best selling CD in Italy.
The concert, which will start at 20.00, is not included in the opera house season tickets. Seats are still available at the time of publishing at €85.20.
