14 Apr-2 Oct 2009. The Kartell Museum hosts the second exhibition in the cycle Kartell Classics, this time dedicated to the renowned Israeli designer Ron Arad and the two icons Bookworm and FPE.
Ron Arad is best known for his early metal furniture designs in the shape of sumptuous armchairs. In 1994 he designed Bookworm, the first flexible bookshelf in stainless steel, and in 1997 he came up with the chair FPE (Fantastic Plastic Elastic) for Kartell. These cult items are displayed alongside Tom Vac Chairs designed for Vitra, glass furniture for Fiam, upholstered sofas for Moroso and the more recent Baby Boop dishes for Alessi. The exhibition also includes drawings, models, prototypes, videos and images from the museum
