Scores of clowns to invade Milan

6-9 March. 14th edition of the international clowns festival.

Timed nicely to coincide with the Ambrosian carnival, almost a hundred clowns will invade the streets and squares of Milan from 6 to 9 March.

The festival programme (click on “tutto sul festival”) lists around 150 events offered by the School of Circus Art and Theatre, sponsored by Milan city hall.

Children will be welcome at the free show Clownkeinstein in the Bruno Munari Puppet Theatre on Via Giovanni Bovio on Thursday afternoon, or the cartoon about the kind and gentle witch Rossella on Friday morning at the Teatro Sassetti in Via Sebenico 21.

Street parades, entertainment in the Buzzi childrens’ hospital, cabarets and circus acts in the piazzas will entertain audiences young and old, produced by students and professionals.

Among the surprises of the festival, the mobile PIC group bus – Pronto Intervento Clown – is ready to “resolve every impossible situation, where even vigilantes, police and army can’t help.”

The detailed programmes for each day on the festival website will help you choose the events you – and your children – don’t want to miss.
