28 Nov 2008-29 Mar 2009. Palazzo Reale dedicates this major exhibition to the theme of water, an essential element for survival. This event retraces a historical-symbolical journey into Mediterranean culture, in search of its soul. On display are over 120 works from the 6th century BC to the present time, loaned by international museums and divided into nine thematic sections. The works tell the history of water: from the diverse meanings given to it by the most ancient cultures to water as a source of life, as a symbol of purification or regeneration, up to the latest meanings and values assigned to water by contemporary societies.
