On the roof of Milan Cathedral
After the success of the first edition on Saturday 6 September, Milan’s iconic Duomo will again host visitors to the roof terrace to admire the stars on Friday 12 September, starting at 19.00.
Milan University astrophysicist Mario Bersanelli will again introduce the stars visible in the night sky, while Marcello Menni of the Veneranda Fabbrica – organisation responsible for the construction and maintenance of the cathedral – will explain the statuary, steeples and gargoyles surrounding the audience.
Verses from Dante’s Divina Commedia and others by Italian poet Giacomo Leopardi will complete the evening.
Visitors are advised to bring comfortable footwear, and to meet at 19.00 on the north entrance to the cathedral. The event will be cancelled in case of poor weather.
Booking is obligatory by email to the address firstname.lastname@example.org.
