Steve McCurry to sign books in Milan

23 Oct. Photographer will meet fans.

American photo-journalist Steve McCurry will present his new book and autograph copies in an event at the Unicredit Pavilion in Milan’s Piazza Gae Aulenti on Sunday 23 October.

McCurry is arguably best known for his haunting portrait of a 12-year-old Afghan girl, shot in a Pakistani refugee camp in 1984, and which was named “the most recognised photograph” in the history of National Geographic magazine.

A member of the Magnum Photos team, McCurry has won numerous awards, including two first prizes in the World Press Photo competition, the Centenary Medal of the Royal Photographic Society, Magazine Photographer of the Year, and the Robert Capa Gold Medal.

His 15th publication is titled The World of Steve McCurry, and he will discuss it at the event with photographer, journalist, poet and novelist Roberto Cotroneo.

Entry to the event is free as long as places are available. Doors open at 11.00.
