Tattoo enthusiasts convene in Milan

9-11 Feb. Milan Tattoo Convention holds three-day festival.

Colourful crowds will throng the 23rd annual Milan Tattoo Convention this weekend in Milan’s MiCo conference centre to see the latest trends in body art.

Over 450 artists from 38 countries will take part in exhibitions, workshops and prize contests. Among the 14 special guest models there are 12 with the word “Suicide” in their nom de plume – or is it nom de needle?

One section of the event will concentrate on past-masters of tattoo art, some of whom have been wielding the needles for over 25 years.  Another section will specialise in traditional and primitive tattoo methods from South Asia.

Practitioners will be able to buy materials and tools, and visitors can have themselves tattooed on the spot by experts.

The entrance is in Via Gattamelata 10, Gate 17, close to Portello station on the lilac metro line M5. The convention is open on Friday from 14.00 to 23.00, on Saturday 12.00 to 23.00 and Sunday 12.00 – 20.00.
