17 Mar-9 Apr 2009. To mark the 10th anniversary of the death of Ignazio Gardella, one of the most important figures of Italian 20th century architecture, and to remember his father Arnaldo (1873-1928). On display at the Campus Bovisa of the Politecnico di Milano, where Ignazio graduated in engineering in 1928, are original paintings and plans from public institutions and universities. This exhibition, particularly interesting for students of architecture, traces the activity of father and son, focusing especially on their unpublished projects and their lesser-known buildings in the city of Alessandria in Piedmont. The history of the professional relationship between Ignazio and his father leads to a more profound understanding of the long career of Ignazio in Alessandria and an insight into his influence on the work of his contemporaries.
