7 Mar-5 Apr. Cà di Frà hosts these photos that the Milanese photo-reporter Uliano Lucas took of friends, artists and intellectuals he met in his numerous journeys around the world. Among the images are the ones of Elio Vittorini at the Dock, Truman Capote in Turin visiting Gianni Agnelli and Nanda Vigo relaxing on a terrace.
Lucas has collaborated with various magazines, including l'Europeo, Il Mondo, L'Espresso, Vie Nuove and with newspapers, such as la Stampa, Il Manifesto and Il Giorno.
Throughout his photographic career, he has transformed his social commitment into the main topic of his work, characterized by strong symbolical content. He has portrayed the transformation of Italy during the 1960s and 1970s. Among his most famous works are his photos of the southern immigrants arriving in Milan carrying cardboard suitcases. In 1982 he was awarded with the Scanno Prize.
