19 Nov. Markets in Milan as Christmas nears.
Sunday 19 November will see two opportunities to make an early start to shopping for Christmas presents.
In the elegant, central Brera district the popular mercantino antiquario is a chance to pick up antique objects, ranging from jewellery, clocks and watches, dishes and porcelain to newer collectables.
The market is held in shops and on street stalls around Via Fiori Chiari, Via Madonnina and Via Formentini. There is no entry charge; the market is open all day until around 19.00.
Across the city in Lambrate, East Market celebrates its third birthday in Via Giovanni Ventura and in adjacent Via Massiminiano. Some 270 indoor stalls offer every imaginable kind of vintage, second-hand and antique wares and clothes, vinyl LPs and much more.
Exotic and local street food and craft beers will be on hand to make it easy to spend a whole day, from 10.00 to 21.00, browsing the stalls.
