3 July-31 August 2012. The Feltrinelli bookstore tells of the urban green through a series of shots taken by Alessandro Vinci. Vinci’s reportage, entitled Urbi et Orti (City and Gardens), reveals a lesser-known aspect of Milan: the growing phenomenon of the urban gardens.
These small green oasis are real country corners in the city centre, cultivated and preserved by ordinary people as a hobby or an effective antidote to the economical crisis. The protagonists of Vinci’s shots are young and elderly people, intent to dig and harvest the fruits of their garden.
