Venice Film Festival comes to Milan

Venice film successes showing in Milan

As usual right after the Venice Film Festival, which closes on Sunday 14 September, many of the movies shown in the lagoon city will come to Milan, starting on Monday 15 September, under the headline Le Vie del Cinema.

This year the programme will also include many of the films competing in the Locarno festival, too. The Milan programme will include Ferrara’s Pasolini and Inarritu’s Birdman, but enthusiasts hoping to catch Roy Andersson’s winner of the Golden Lion A Pigeon Sat on a Branch Reflecting on Existence or Martone’s Il Giovane Favoloso will be disappointed: they are not in the Milan programme.

More than 40 movies will be screened in eight different Milanese cinemas during the 10-day mini-festival, including entries in many other competitions, all of them in the original language and with Italian subtitles.

The full programme is available on the Lombardia Spettacolo website.

Tickets can be booked from Friday 12 September either at the Apollo cinema in the Galleria De Cristoforis or online at the Lombardia Spettacolo box office. Multiple tickets are also available for 6, 10 or 16 screenings.
