20 October-18 December 2012. Museo Minguzzi hosts this travelling exhibition, entitled Wildlife Photographer of the Year.
On display are a hundred nature photographs, selected among 41,000 photographs during the last edition of the international competition, organised by the Natural History Museum of London and the magazine BBC Wildlife. Moments of incomparable beauty are captured in these images, ranging from expansive landscapes to intimate portraits of animals, focusing on the drama and spectacular diversity of the ecosystem.
Among the winners of this competition are two Italian photographers, Marco Colombo and Stephano Unterthiner. The most coveted prize, Veolia Environnement Wildlife Photographer of the Year, has been given to the Spanish photographer Daniel Beltrá, who has documented the natural disaster which occurred as a result of the explosion of an oil well in the Gulf of Mexico on 20 April 2012.
