2 February- 10 March 2012. To mark the 75th anniversary from the first legendary edition of the magazine Life, this exhibition, entitled "Women of Life", displays 35 images taken by female photographers and arrives from the Life Gallery of Photography of New York. Among Life’s famous women photographers are many women such as Margaret Bourke White, Nina Leen, Lisa Larsen and Martha Holmes who have rendered eternal through photography the changes, the evolution and the emancipation of American women. Not only the passage from housewives to manager but the evolution of women in society.
The first edition of Life magazine was published on 23 November 1936. It's first historical cover was a photograph taken by a woman, Margaret Bourke White, who was a pioneer of industry photography, reportage and social survey. Her shot immortalized the dam of Fort Peck, which inaugurated the fortunate series of the magazine Life.
